Teaching Assistant - Level 1
Hours: 10 hours a week (Monday to Friday 1.15pm to 3.15pm) term time only
Salary: 03HC SCP 03 (£5618.64)
Contract type: Fixed term until July 2026
Reporting to: Headteacher
We are looking to appoint a dedicated and supportive Teaching Assistant (Level 1) to join our committed team at Stretton Sugwas CofE Academy.
The role:
-
Supporting the education, care and welfare of children under the guidance of the class teacher
-
Assisting in the preparation of resources and supporting group activities in and out of the classroom
-
Promoting positive behaviour and reinforcing pupils’ self-esteem
-
Helping children to access the curriculum and make good progress in a nurturing environment
The ideal candidate will:
-
Have some experience of working with children (paid or voluntary)
-
Be flexible, calm, and able to work as part of a team
-
Be committed to supporting an inclusive school ethos
-
Be willing to undertake relevant training
-
Be subject to an enhanced DBS check
